Fiddlers Green Amphitheatre
After a series of 50th anniversary runs, the English rock band - Squeeze is heading out for the "Tried, Tested, and Trixies" tour, celebrating "53 Years of Classic Songwriting Live in Concert". Back in support of their new album "Trixies", their first album in 8 years, Squeeze looks forward to sharing music writen by the teenage Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook. It sure is 53 years of classics revisited and re-engineered, dating back to the very start of their songwriting partnership. Packed with stories set in a fictional night club named "Trixies", get ready for their best alt-indie and rock bangers that'll take you back to the good 'ol days. Tales from a speakeasy, standout tracks like "Why Don't You" and "You Get the Feeling" have resonated with critics and fans, debuting at the top of the UK Independent Chart. Get ready for a show that'll take you back through 53 years of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook's songwriting partnership. Immersing listeners in a fictional 30s-style speakeasy, it shares amazing classic vibes as these long lost stories come back to life. The pair actually wrote these songs back in '74, but they didn't have the resources to produce music just yet. Digging up original cassette demos from the time, the finally brought these songs justice and recorded them in the studio.
The tour will see support from several artists with dates in Europe, the UK, and North America throughout 2026. This stop in Englewood, Colorado, will see support from Adam Ant & Haircut 100. You're down to rock out to new (or rediscovered) antems from Trixies, all the hits & classics, plus some deep cuts in the mix.
This English rock band started dominating the UK new wave and rock screne in the late 70s, and kept recording tunes in the 80s, 90,s and 2010s, Their singles "Cool for Cats", "Up the Junction", and "Labelled with Love" dominated UK radio while "Tempted", "Black Coffee in Bed", and "Hourglass" became hits in the U.S. They were also hailed as one of the major acts pushed by the Second British Invasion in America driven by MTV.
Hailed as "the heirs to Lennon and McCartney's throne" during their massive surge in popularity in the 70s, the pair continues to be defined by their polished and immersive songwriting, something that's evident in every incarnation and comeback of the band. With a songs that's incredibly catchy - packed with double-octave vocals, soulful pop undertones, and a cinematic storytelling style.
While members have come and gone since they were formed in March of 1974, Squeeze is currently made up of the original pair, Glenn Tilbrook & Chris Difford alongside Chris Difford, Stephen Large, Simon Hanson, Steve Smith, Melvin Duffy. Owen Biddle, and Danica Dora.
