Last year, 107.9 KBPI Birthday Bash had a killer celebration in Morrison, Colorado, thanks to sensational metal bands, In This Moment, Ice Nine Kills, Black Veil Brides, and many more! This 2023, the line-up is more robust and more worthy than ever with Billboard Music and Boston Music Awardee Godsmack. The hard rock band took the world by storm after emerging from Lawrence, Massachusetts, in the ‘90s. The band, led by Sully Ema, dropped their self-titled major debut album in 1998. The critically-acclaimed effort entered the Billboard 200 chart at number 22. It belted out incredible hits like “Whatever,” “Keep Away,” “Voodoo,” and “Bad Religion.” in 2000, the band released their career-defining album, Awake. The album spawned singles, including the title track, “Bad Magick,” and “Greed,” which earned the band its first Grammy nomination and first Boston Music Award for Album of the Year. By 2010, Godsmack had asserted its dominance in the U.S. Their fifth album, The Oracle, topped the Billboard 200 chart and was later certified gold after selling more than half a million copies in the U.S. This 2023, the band is set to release its latest album, Light Up the Sky. This record, preceded by the single “Surrender,” is the band’s eighth effort.
