In the 50 years that they have been bringing their hard rock and heavy metal to the world, German band Scorpions have sold over 75 million records, making them one of the most successful rock bands to ever come from Continental Europe, and one of the world's best selling bands of all time. Known best for their anthemic 1984 song “Rock You Like a Hurricane” and the 1990 ballad "Wind of Change," the band was formed in 1965 in Hannover by guitarist Rudolf Schenker. Throughout the band's incredibly rock 'n' roll career there have been many line-up changes and personal demons slain, but the music remained consistently loved by their loyal fans. Commercial success came with the '84 breakthrough album Love at First Sting, achieving double-platinum status within a few months of release and propelling the band to international superstardom. In 1990, the album Crazy World was released and would eventually become the Scorpions' biggest-selling record to date, drawing on the strength of the hit ballad "Wind of Change." Their eighteenth studio album Return to Forever was released in early 2015, coinciding with their 50th anniversary as a band.
